Family Difflugiidae Wallich, 1864

Diagnosis: Lobose testate amoebae with shell in cross-section circular, composed mainly of mineral grains and/or diatoms, held together by a more or less abundant organic cement, usually opaque greyish, or shell in cross-section hexagonal or polygonal, mainly organic with mineral grains, usually transparent; shells of both types sometimes compressed.
